SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

Morning:
Together we will create a Morning Altar using leftover pieces from our making and things found over the past few days. After which Tif will share how to translate an idea of a bug or butterfly or floral onto a piece of knitted cloth to create a ‘woolly tattoo’ piece of art.

Afternoon:
We will continue with stitching our woolly tattoo artwork, taking a break to do some stamping with stamps made by Meg (Tif’s daughter). Beetles, hearts, hands, eyes, crosses, butterflies, leaves and flowers all lend themselves nicely to becoming stamps and being printed into our journals.

Skill Level

no experience needed to attend this mini Makerie, although the ability to have experience hand stitching with a needle & thread is welcomed

Materials

all supplies included, however if you have some special sticks or feathers you are welcome to bring them along; each participant will receive a journal handmade by Tif. Within the pages will be coloring pages, how-tos for stitching and prayer weaving, quotes, and there will also be space for you to add your own thoughts, ideas, moments and quotes .

About Tif Fussell

Tif Fussell spent many moons and numerous years bring up her clan in a mossy shed surrounded by critters and pine trees just outside of Seattle. On any given day she could be found blogging, crafting or writing books under the name of dottie angel.

Those days are now long gone and with children scattered around the globe, a good few years working through health issues and bereavement under her belt, she has emerged again to bravely go out into the world to see what its all about. Rekindling her love for embroidery, combined with her smitten-ness for rustic and hand dyed yarn she started creating ‘woolly tattoos’. When Tif isn’t plotting her next stitch, she can be found in the kitchen playing with ‘whole foods’ and doing her darn-dest to bake edible sweet treats, free from gluten, dairy and sugar. (Although according to her youngest lad, this may take a miracle or two.) She can also be found anytime of day with her nose in a book, most likely on Buddhism, spiritualism or food and on some days working on ‘dottie angel’ clothing patterns for Simplicity.

So in a nutshell, Tif is a woolly tattoo artist, a crafty dabbler of sorts, a critter liker, a would-be, could-be Buddhist and definitely a work-in-progress most days.
