Weaving is an ancient, sacred craft that integrates the body and the mind. In this class we will approach it as a practice for meditation and expression. After a short, guided meditation we’ll learn the bare-bones basics of weaving, after which we will take an intuitive, no-rules, free-form approach to creating without a set pattern for the remainder of the class. A wide variety of yarns, fibers, and natural materials, such as feathers and foraged botanicals, will be available for you to incorporate into your piece. Come with an open, listening heart and be ready to explore! You’ll leave with a finished one-of-a-kind wall hanging to bring new beauty into your living space, as well as a basic handbook that contains the knowledge to continue your weaving journey.

The wild world is her main source of inspiration, and she approaches her personal work as a collaboration with unique natural fibers that often have a voice of their own. Sarah finds a special joy in sharing her love of weaving. She encourages her students to have a sense of curiosity and adventure as they begin to explore the limitless possibilities within the world of fibers. Sarah is also the founder of The Weaving Kind, an Instagram community that provides monthly weaving challenges, inspiration, and an opportunity to connect with weavers around the world. On a typical day you can find Sarah at home in Colorado, chasing her kids around the neighborhood, avoiding emails and keeping all the windows open, even in cold weather.
